Our Mission

The purpose of the Long Green Land Trust is to preserve open space, farmland, natural resources and historic sites in the Long Green Valley and its environs. Preservations will be achieved through the use of voluntary preservation programs.

The Long Green Land Trust is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit land trust dedicated to preserving the heritage and character of the Long Green Land Trust environs in Baltimore County, Maryland.

The Land Trust board is comprised of local residents who share a common concern for land preservation and quality of life. Several hundred neighbors in and about the Valley comprise the LGLT membership.

The Land Trust seeks to help property owners large and small understand the financial and personal benefits that accompany land preservation.

Landowners should note that your property does not have to be exactly within the boundaries noted above. The LGLT routinely works with property owners in the greater LGLT area.

Governance

The LGLT is a registered 501(c)(3) land trust. The board is comprised of local community members who typically serve 2 to 3 year terms. The board meets monthly and sets and implements LGLT conservation priorities. Standing Committees include:
